Learning Outcome #6: Locate research sources (including academic journal articles, magazine, and newspaper articles) in the library’s databases or archives and on the Internet and evaluate them for credibility, accuracy, timeliness, and bias.
This was one of the fun ones in my opinion because we had a whole class dedicated to learning about these databases and finding reliable sources through our CCNY recourses like GALE. Professor Gibbons came into our class and talked about how can get our articles, eBooks, etc. for free. I learned how easy it was to find information through the database instead of going through google and getting bias sources for my paper. We also learned how different net .org .gov sites can give us good reliable information compared to .com which is a corporation. This made it easier for the whole class to get their resources and make their papers better. We also talked about citations of the work and the resources we can use.
