Learning Outcome #3: Recognize and practice key rhetorical terms and strategies when engaged in writing situations.
To demonstrate Learning Outcome #3 Through each draft, I got to practice key rhetorical terms and remember them. By doing this it became easier each time and I will attach my draft to show this.
In Nicholas St. Fleur’s article “Watch Scientists Brew Their Own Lava” he discusses how volcano reactions have hurt a lot of people. For example, “bombs of molten rock that were flung into the sky and then smashed into a nearby tourist boat, injuring 23 people” We can tell how unpredictable volcano can be and no one knows how to be safe from it. That is why scientist want to know more about these reactions and they will do so through experimentation on hot molten lava with safety precautions. The researchers discovered that each time they got a different reaction from the lava sometimes it would shoot out 15 feet on to the air and other times nothing would happen. This is exactly the reason this experiment is taking place to see what the difference between the situations which is can further help us understand how lava works. This was written to inform people of the current situation and how researchers are still working day and night to find an answer. It is important for us to know because we never know when hot molten lava bombs will fly out of the sky and precautions, we need to take to stay safe this will help us. I decided on this article because lava is so fascinating and when I continued to read about how it has different reaction it made me even more interested in the topic.
